Happy Sunday, friends! The most vital part of every single weekend for me is brunch. Starting the day with a great meal calls for major productivity. Not only is today Sunday, but it is also Easter- aka the perfect excuse for a special meal shared with the people you love most. In order to have a wonderful celebration, you need to find the perfect place.
Hidden in the heart of Providence, Rhode Island, is a very unique restaurant known as Cav. It places #5 of the top attractions in the area and no other restaurants or businesses even made the list! The atmosphere is absolutely magical and the food is extraordinary. However, food is not the only thing available for purchase. There are also many antiques around the restaurant including mirrors and wall hangings that you can literally pull off the wall and place in your own home.
I first visited this restaurant at the very beginning of my time in Providence about four years ago. The man that I was seeing at the time took me to CAV for dinner and made me promise to only take the most important people in my life there in the future. At first, I just laughed, and then as soon as I sat down I knew exactly what he was talking about.

Their brunch menu is one of the largest I have ever seen, which is perfect when you have many people to entertain with varying appetites!
For this particular brunch celebration, I brought along my dear friend, Laurie. We also attend classes together at Providence Power Yoga, which is located only a few buildings away! After yoga, we usually come to the beautiful bar at CAV for small bites and drinks.
Like I said before, CAV is just magical. Their food is extraordinary and I don’t think the presentation could get much better. Laurie ordered cranberry juice and I had iced coffee. The tall glasses and paper wrapped straws made the drinks so much more interesting.
Being the major foodie that I am, I usually order the most intricate item on the menu. Additionally, I NEVER order the same thing as whoever I am with, but this time I just could not resist. When brunching, it is key to order something that you would not usually make yourself at home.
The favorite meal of the day: Pistachio Encrusted Crab Cake Benedict
I am a firm believer in ending each meal with a sweet treat. Since it was brunch, we ordered these delicious waffles with strawberries and whipped cream to end the CAV experience and begin the sunny Sunday.
Personal Experience/ Side Note: Around Valentines Day, I was going through some personal hardships and just wanted to go somewhere that would cheer me up. I hadn’t eaten in days and arrived back home very late after a long day at work. By the time I finally got to CAV, the kitchen had closed and they were cleaning the restaurant to prepare for the next day. However, the sweet host and kitchen staff decided to re-open the kitchen so I could have the perfect dinner. The service at CAV is super accommodating and overall just amazing.
If you have never been to CAV before, I suggest you go as soon as possible with your parents, significant other, or someone else that is really special to you. The restaurant is open all through the week for lunch and dinner. Brunch is available every Saturday and Sunday until the afternoon. They also serve exquisite cocktails and small plates if you just need a quick fix after a long shift or workout.
You can find CAV at 14 Imperial Place, Providence RI. They are also available on Open Table if you want to make a reservation.
