Groundbreaking Florals

Happy Tuesday! Today’s post is inspired by one of the most repeated lines in the history of fashion. Well, a famous movie line that is. It should come as no surprise to anyone that The Devil Wears Prada is my all time favorite production. Not only does is perfectly depict what life is really like in the fashion industry, but it does so in a humorous yet informative way.

When we think of the Spring season, we immediately connect it to flowers blooming outdoors, and well all over our clothing too. Yes, I know what you all are thinking, and I am thinking it too. “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.”

Well hey there Miranda, let me tell you what truly is revolutionary… wearing white before Memorial Day!

So before we wrap up, I challenge you to add some uniqueness to your wardrobe. Using one or even two hands, count how many different floral tops or dresses you own. Now, start over and count the number of floral bottoms in your collection.

My point? Be different! Invest in some great printed bottoms and differentiate yourself. Be a trend setter. Wear that white whenever you want to. What is most important is what works for YOU. Leading is always better than following.

Last tip: It is a known fact that one should always wear prints on their smaller areas. While it is always easier to find printed tops, I try to mix it up by wearing prints on the bottom to even out my figure. I am only 5″5′, but my legs take up most of my height. However, I am top heavy, so it is important to take away that feeling of bulk by bringing the attention to my bottom half. In this case, it is achieved with a floral pattern.
